I really like the idea of this, but the execution does leave something to be desired. The most noticeable issue I have is the shading: it is too soft. Sharpen up some of the edges and make the dark to light contrast more intense and you'll have a much more visually striking drawing. there needs to be a wider variety of tones in this, your darks need to be darker and your lights lighter; this will give the drawing a lot more pop, depth and atmosphere. Right now the tones are all in a very medium area leading to a less interesting picture overall. Continuing with the tones, this is (or I feel it should be) a very dark atmospheric drawing to get more of that effect use deeper colors on areas like the roses and brass on the frames of the mirrors, the girl's hair and an overall darker background color as well as sharpening the shading all around will get a much more intense look for the drawing.
Also try cropping off the very top of the drawing the parts above the mirror seem to be unnecessary and kind of put a damper on the composition as a whole. The rose and skull piles at the bottom of the screen should be approximately the same size and shape and I feel that they would benefit from extending further to the bottom of the canvas.
Also in my opinion the reflection on the right side should be the girl in a white dress letting the bird fly free to to contrast more with the dark reflection killing the bird, right now being the same thing it doesn't really portray the kind of conflict between good and evil I think you were going for.
Hope this was of some assistance.

Eh, I've seen better.

aw you sweet heart

You're work is seriously amazing. Normally I really couldn't care less about anything anime but the way you do it is just so beautiful, detailed and well composed that It really does transcend any and all prejudices anyone could possibly have toward art.
Keep it up.

clayscence responds:

thank you so mcuh!

Easily one of my favorites now. I love the emotion and pop of this drawing.

Thank you. :)

Fucking gorgeous.

This is really awesome. I especially lie the use perpendicular circles as oppose to a traditional "skin" so to speak.
Also I like octopi, so extra points there.

I would say do not do this collage thing. It takes away from the better stuff. The orange thing can easily hold up on its own and would probably get a higher score. If you're going to do a collage thing I'd say do one of exclusively one theme, like your mech heads/helmets.
If you don't feel that a piece can hold up on its own in the Portal I can tell you for sure that they won't hold up any better being strung together.
Kisses.

I really like this, the monochrome is executed very nicely except that big building in the center with the gradient does not fit at all and really brings down the whole drawing a lot. Also the dude's dog nose is off putting considering he doesn't seem to have any other dog features.

Triggershock responds:

Thanks!
I wasn't sure what to do about the middle building myself. I agree that the gradient is super ugly but I don't know what to do with it if I were to go back and change it.
His nose might look dog-ish because of the lighting but it's just a big, wedge-shaped nose.

I too Like octopi

Rainbow octopus. I am taking notes.

I'm not gay or anything

I just think it'd freak him out.... FFFFFFFFFFFFFreak him out into telling us.

dommi-fresh responds:

Yeah, something like that.
